Oppo PSA: If you run iTunes, DO NOT UPDATE!!!! Apple has something really effed up and iTunes is borked. I even went to the trouble of uninstalling through the Control Panel and downloading their latest update file to reinstall. That doesn't work. If you are getting an error message when your computer boots up it may be from iTunes having updated. The screenshot is below. Or Nibbles will show you a picture of a watch, one of the two.

I knew there was a reason I didn't update iTunes. Thanks for the heads up.

I just fixed this for a friend
Uninstall EVERYTHING apple related
Install QUICKTIME first. Once quicktime is done, THEN you can install itunes. Itunes update has a corrupt validation file, quicktime does not. If you install quicktime first, itunes will piggyback off of quicktime and install correctly.

ITunes is the worst software package since Windows ME. Try using double twist, I hear it can sync music to IPhones.

I updated iTunes on my home and work iMacs just recently and have had no issues. Other than my phone won't acknowledge new playlists, but it was doing that before the update from time to time as well. I am running 11.1.4.

iTunes is the worst piece of software in the modern age.
Apple clearly doesn't know how to software.
If it takes me buying an SSD just to make iTunes launch fast and not hang, I'm sorry but you've got some FUCKING TERRIBLE coding going on there.
Doesn't matter what I run iTunes on. i7 Macbook, i7 6 core desktop; you name it, it probably lags it.
iTunes is the devil incarnate. No wonder they pushed their cloud syncing crap so much. Even that is better than having to deal with glorious god built iTunes.*
*That last statement was sarcasm. Because God would smite iTunes if he ever used it.

The funniest part is, when Apple launched iTunes for Windows, Jobs joked about how it was like giving a glass of water to a man in Hell.
Guffaw!

I think they're complaining about iTunes on Windows. Unless you have an iPhone, I'm not sure why you would want to use iTunes in Windows.

Really? I've got nothing wrong on my iTunes at all, even after it updated. I never understood the hate for iTunes when it's been so easy for me to use. It doesn't even take a huge amount of time to open, about 4 seconds is enough to deal with a 49GB library...

Whoops, yup, you are right. Just looked at the image closer. Mentions Microsoft. My mistake.

Don't update JAVA either. Got into work and got the JAVA pop up and updated it, chose NOT to install the ASK.COM toolbar, and somehow I got some damn adware on my work PC as well. Kept crashing IE and popping up stupid windows.

Every time I've updated iTunes since about 2005 it has become worse. I've stopped updating it entirely. Biggest piece of crap program on the planet.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Make sure you are uninstalling everything related to it. I was unable to successfully redownload iTunes until I restarted my computer after uninstalling everything, but then it worked perfectly.

Works fine on my Macbook Pro (late 2011). It's always sucked on Windows though.

I've found your problem. In all seriousness I hate when shit tries to install other unrelated shit. No, I don't want any effing toolbar, much less ask.com.

I don't use it too much, but fuck it takes forever to load. Other than that it usually works OK, but every once in a while something totally goes to shit.

Will try this later. Think it would work if I just uninstall/reinstall Quicktime and then iTunes instead of nuking everything Apple?

I read you have to nuke everything apple, all the way down to bonjour and the utilities. Thats what I did and how it worked. It'll all reinstall when you put itunes back on.

Nuked everything and reinstalled this morning. As of now things are working fine. Thanks for the advice.
